Abstract

Screw-and-nut mechanism comprises balls or rollers e which circulate in helical grooves in a screw a and nut c and through a helical channel j in the body of the nut. A sleeve m covers the groove and deflecting-members such as are shown in Fig. 2, are detachably secured in recesses in the ends of the nut to guide the balls or rollers. The deflecting-member g, Fig. 2, is formed in two parts, has a grooved projection h, and is secured in the ends of the nut by screws l, which also secure the sleeve m to the nut.
