Abstract

1435807 Sealing covers for containers &c. BLAU KG FABRIK FUER KRAPTPAHRZEUGTEILE 10 Aug 1973 [29 Sept 1972] 37938/73 Heading B8T [Also in Division F2] A sealing cover 1 for a container or pipe socket capable of an automatic compensation of internal high and low pressure, comprises a partition 5 having ventilation holes 5<SP>IV</SP> and channels 5<SP>V</SP>, the partition including a central portion 5<SP>1</SP> defining a seat for a peripheral portion of a diaphragm 6 provided with a hole 6<SP>1</SP>, the portion 5<SP>1</SP> being provided with a channel 5<SP>11</SP> which is so dimensioned as to allow the passage of gas through a projecting rib 5<SP>111</SP> while restricting the flow of liquid. The construction is such that when an under-pressure develops inside the container the peripheral portion of the diaphragm 6 is unseated whereby air travelling from passages 2<SP>111</SP>, channels 5<SP>V</SP> enters the container through the hole 5<SP>IV</SP> and during an overpressure air escapes from the container through the channel 5<SP>11</SP>, via the channel 5<SP>V</SP> and the passage 2<SP>111</SP>. The cover 1 comprises a spring housing 2 which mounts a bridge member 3 having bayonet pins 3<SP>1</SP> for engaging the undersurface of a flange of the pipe or container.
