Abstract
1435657 Lighters BRAUN AG 16 April 1974 16457/74 Heading F4F A lighter with piezoelectric ignition comprises a valve 8, a piezoelectric hammer assembly 28, a rotatable actuating member 5 and a lever 17 with one arm disposed to contact the valve and the other arm resting beneath a part 30 of the top 29 of the hammer assembly such that movement of the member 5 depresses the hammer assembly 28 to generate a spark and opens the valve. A surface of the member 5 corresponds to the curved top surface of the assembly and contact is provided via a roller 35. The electrical circuit for the spark gap comprises a pointed electrode 24 connected to the piezoelectric crystal and the earth lead connected to the pin 16 of the lever by a clawshaped member 20.
