1435583 Clutch control; Bowden mechanisms BRITISH LEYLAND UK Ltd 13 Aug 1974 [15 May 1973] 22981/73 Headings F2L and F2K In a clutch release mechanism depression of a clutch pedal 21 (Fig. 2) disengages the clutch through a Bowden mechanism in which an inner cable 16 extends between pedal 21 and a fixed part of a clutch housing 32 (Fig. 3) and an outer sleeve 27 extends between a fixed member 29 adjacent the pedal 21 and a clutch operating lever 30, depression of pedal 21 thus causing the outer sleeve 27 to pivot the lever 30 anticlockwise about a pivot 31 and disengage the clutch by movement of a pin 33 (which engages a clutch release bearing, not shown). A cap 36 on the end of sleeve 27 engages the lever 30. A spring 40 between the clutch housing 32 and the end of cable 16 biases pedal 21 against a stop 32 when the clutch is engaged. The pivoting of the clutch pedal is also limited by an adjustable stop 23.
