Abstract

1435567 V.T.O.L. aircraft VEREINIGTE FLUGTECHNISCHE WERKE - FOKKER GmbH 19 June 1973 [7 July 1972] 29065/73 Heading B7G A high-wing V.T.O.L. aircraft 31 has a cruise engine 34 provided with laterally-disposed swivelling propulsion nozzles 33 which may be moved from forward-thrust positions to the vertical-lift position shown in the left-hand side of Fig. 3. Each nozzle has an upstream portion 37 mounted on a rotatable ring 36 and a downstream portion 32 pivotally mounted at 38 for arcuate movement under the control of an actuator whereby the direction of thrust may be adjusted in a transverse plane to effect roll control of the aircraft. The aircraft may have puffer jet control nozzles for use during take-off and landing and during transitional flight.
