Abstract

Switches; locking; handles.-A switch inserted in the ignition circuit of an internal-combustion engine has the movable contacts, one for each cylinder of the engine, mounted on the insulating- bolt of a key-operated lock, so that the ignition circuit can be closed by the authorized person only. The switch may be used also to prevent the unauthorized starting of any electricallyoperated machinery. In the construction shown, the fixed spring-clip contacts F<1> are mounted on an insulating-framework and are connected to the wiring leads, which pass out through the metal tubing A, by means of the terminals C<1>, C<2>, &c. The movable bridging-contacts D<1> &c. are mounted on the insulating-plunger of a keyoperated lock, so that the movable contacts may be brought into engagement with the fixed contacts only by the use of the appropriate key E.
