Abstract

1433418 Thermal switches INTER CONTROL HERMANN KOHLER ELEKTRIK GmbH & CO KG 31 July 1973 [1 Aug 1972] 36463/73 Heading H1N By rotating housing part 7 relative to housing part 1, the distance between the snap acting bimetallic temperature sensor 9 and contact system 2, 3, 6 is varied so that the operation of the contacts occurs during the snap action stroke. Sensor 9 raises bridging contact 6 against the action of spring 11 through insulating member 10. Contact 6 bridges the ends of L-shaped fixed contacts 2, 3. Cam surfaces 12, 13 vary the distance as part 7 is rotated. When the casing parts are set, the top end of cap 8 is crimped over to fix the axial distance and a portion of cap 8 is deformed into recess 14 in part 7 to prevent further rotation of part 7. In a second embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown) the surfaces 12, 13 have a plurality of wedgeshaped parts to form the camming surfaces.
