Abstract

1433292 Fingerprinting IDENTICATOR CORP 5 Feb 1974 [5 Feb 1973] 05149/74 Heading B6C A fingerprint developing apparatus for developing a latent fingerprint impressed on the surface of a medium, e.g. a cheque, comprises a container in a housing to contain a supply of powder 20; a support member 60, to support the medium, having an aperture 56 communicating with the container; a closure connected to the housing and manually operable from outside the housing, the closure being continually biased towards the aperture to seal it; at least one member 26 movably mounted relative to the container to move powder across the aperture and means for moving this member. The member 26 may be formed by an arm rotatable about shaft 24, carrying magnets 28, 30 to coact with magnetizable powder 20. A strip magnet may be arranged on the support member to remove excess powder from the medium. Door 62 may be provided to facilitate filling with powder 20.
