Abstract

1432578 Derivatives of indole-7-acetic acid A H ROBINS CO Inc 16 May 1973 [17 May 1972] 23375/73 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of Formula I wherein R, R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP> are each H or C 1 -C 6 alkyl, while R<SP>2</SP> may also be halogen, NO 2 , CF 3 or C 1 -C 6 alkoxy. The esters are prepared by reacting with R<SP>1</SP>OH/HCl, compounds of Formula II and the acids are prepared by hydrolysing the esters. Therapeutic compositions which are preferably administered orally, comprise compounds of the above Formula (I), which prevent the inflammatory response to pleural irritation.
