Abstract

1432498 Knitting-machines EDOUARD DUBIED & CIE SA 11 Dec 1973 [14 Dec 1972] 57345/73 Heading D1C A V-bed machine includes needles 5 controlled by jacks 7 held by integral straps 15 against pivoted levers 9, which in turn can be raised by a bar 16 connected to a selector 20 selected electromagnetically. The levers 9 pivot about a fixed wire 13. As the carriage traverses the machine the selectors pass guard magnets and between electromagnets 23. Unselected bars, drawn to the right as shown, are prevented from rising by engagement of lug 31 with a wire 32. Butts 28 of selected bars engage a rise track 29 thereby raising the end of lever 9. Jack butt 8 is thereby raised into engagement with the cam lock. The lock includes transfer cams and bolt needle and jack cams. The knitting pattern is set out in a matrix the vertical lines of which are activated by a generator via a counter. Selection of horizontal lines-courses - is determined by a reader.
