Abstract

1432355 Printing ceramic ware SERVICE (ENGS) Ltd 30 July 1973 [29 July 1972] 35547/72 Heading B6C Pieces of ceramic ware are successively received on carriers 16, 18, 20, 22, which are each slidably mounted on a set of rails 24 on turntable 10, and are in turn each brought to indirect intaglio printing station 4 by movement of their carriers along their rails 24 and printing station rails 42. During movement, printing and return movement the turntable is stationary. Between station 4 and similar station 6, where a second impression is made, the ware is sprinkled with talcum powder by sieve 180 and dried under hood 182. At the printing stations the ware carriers are coupled to slide-mounted intaglio printing plates 84, and are moved with them to place plates and ware carriers alternately under flexible offset members 108. The plates are swept by transverse doctor blades 168, and receive ink from nozzles 136. Multiple impressions can be made by a corresponding number of printing stations.
