Abstract
1432337 Parallel plate separator for removing liquid from gas PREMABERG (GREAT BRITAIN) LTD 22 Feb 1974 [23 Nov 1972] 54224/72 Heading BIT In a separator wherein gas flows in direction A between parallel zig-zag section plates 2 (Fig. 2, not shown) the lower edges ofthe plates extend into a liquid collecting trough 1 and are inclined so that liquid removed from the gas by the plates runs down their lower edges in the general direction of gas flow and resists re-entrainment. The separator illustrated is for use in a ship, the angle of inclination 25 degrees exceeding the expected list by 5 degrees. The end plates are inclined at a lesser angle (Fig. 3 not shown) and are not chamfered at their downstream edges like the central plates 2. Plates 2 have pockets which open in a direction opposed to the gas flow.
