1432197 Dyeing blends of fibres TROYDALE INDUSTRIES Ltd 21 Dec 1973 [30 Nov 1973] 55580/73 Heading D1B A process for dyeing synthetic fibres in textile material which comprises both synthetic fibres and natural fibres or regenerated cellulosic fibres comprises dyeing a reservoir fabric or film which includes synthetic fibres or film with a volatile disperse dye, contacting said reservoir fabric or film with the textile material, the temperature of the dye during contact being high enough to partition a minor portion of the dye on the reservoir fabric or film selectively to the synthetic fibres at or close to the surface of said textile material, and contacting said reservoir fabric or film with further textile material, further dye being applied to the reservoir fabric or film either continuously or intermittently. The synthetic fibres may be present as impurities or as deliberate additions in the textile fabric, which may be reclaimed wool or reclaimed wool/cotton fabric. Polyester, polypropylene, acetate, acrylic, modified acrylic, polyurethane or polyvinyl chloride fibres may be present in the textile material. The reservoir fabric or film may be a polyester or polyamide. The textile material may be heated prior to contact with the reservoir fabric or film. Blanket calenders, batch and continuous processes may be used.
