Abstract

1432075 Temporary floors H STAEGER 24 Jan 1974 [1 Feb 1973 2 June 1973] 03346/74 Heading E1W A temporary floor comprises a plurality of panels 1 supported above a sub floor by supports comprising a base plate 4 from which projects a threaded stud 3 held captive in the base but being axially rotatable therein. A support plate 2 has a threaded aperture in which the stud engages. The height of panels 1 above a sub floor is adjustable from above the floor by means of e.g. a hexagonal key wrench 5 which rotates the stud 3 moving the plate 2 vertically. The panels are clamped together along their edges by means accessible from above the floor to prevent bowing of one panel with respect to an adjacent panel when the floor is loaded. An' edge covering strip of extruded aluminium with a telescopically adjustable edge may be provided to conceal the underfloor space when the temporary floor does not cover the whole of the sub floor.
