Abstract

1431697 Coated film TEIJIN LTD 19 April 1973 [22 April 1972 30 May 1972 26 June 1972 4 Sept 1972 7 Sept 1972 10 Jan 1973] 19096/73 Heading B2E A decorative film comprises a synthetic resin base film having deposited thereon a metal layer and a coating formed on the metal layer of fluorine resin having a solubility such that it dissolves in 100 cc of methylethyl ketone in an amount of at least 1 g at 20‹C. A fibre may be obtained by slitting the film. An interlayer of a synthetic resin may be formed between the metal layer and the coating of the fluorine resin, between the metal layer and the synthetic resin film base, or both. The interlayer may be coloured and may be an epoxy resin or an acrylic resin. The synthetic resin base film may be a polyester, polyamide, polyimide, polyamideimide and polyolefine. The fluorine resin may be selected from (1) copolymers of not more than 50 mol percent of at least one polyfluorine-containing 2-3 C alpha-olefine and not less than 50 mole percent of at least one monomer selected from vinyl fluoride and vinylidene fluoride not more than 5 mole percent of which may be replaced by a monomer selected from vinyl esters of 1-4 C fatty acids and glycidyl methacrylate, (2) copolymers of at least 35 mol percent of at least one polyfluorinecontaining 2-3 C alpha olefine and not more than 65 mol percent of a monomer selected from vinyl chloride and vinylidene chloride not more than 5 mol percent of which may be replaced by a monomer selected from acrylic acid, 1-4 C alkyl esters thereof, methacrylic acid, 1-4 C alkyl esters thereof, vinyl fluoride and vinylidene fluoride, (3) homo- or copolymers of compounds of formula wherein R f is a perfluoroether or perfluoroalkyl having 3-12 carbon atoms, copolymers of at least 50 mol percent of at least one compound of formula and not more than 50 mol percent of at least one monomer selected from acrylic acid, 1-2 C alkyl esters thereof, methacrylic acid, 1-2 C alkyl esters thereof, vinyl esters of 1-4 C fatty acids, styrene, alpha-methyl styrene, vinyl fluoride, vinylidene fluoride, vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride and polyfluorine-containing aplha-olefines, and (4) copolymers of units in a total amount of 100 mol percent derived from 70-85 mol percent of vinylidene fluoride, 10-25 mol percent of a polyfluorine-containing 2-3 C alpha-olefine and 5-20 mol percent of a compound of the formula wherein A is a hydrogen atom, a 1-10 C alkyl or RZ, wherein R is -(CH 2 ) n , n being 0-10, and Z is selected from CO 2 R<SP>1</SP>, SO 3 R<SP>1</SP> or PO(OR<SP>1</SP>) 2 wherein R<SP>1</SP> is selected from a hydrogen atom, 1-6 C alkyl, 1-6 C monochloroalkyl, alkali metals and ammonium, and B is selected from a hydrogen atom, 1-2 C alkyl, chlorine and RZ. The metal may be aluminium, silver, tin or gold which may be deposited on one or both surfaces of the based film. The coating of fluorine resin may be applied by doctor blade coating, brush coating, roll coating, spray coating, dip coating or gravure coating a solution of the fluorine resin in an organic solvent. An aliphatic or aromatic polyamine selected from polyalkylene polyamines, and phenylene diamines may be included in the solution. The fibres slit from the decorative film may be woven or knitted with natural, regenerated or synthetic fibres.
