Dust &c. excluding. - Grooves formed in the housing of a ball or roller bearing to receive dustexcluding rings are lined with sheet metal or the like, which may be embedded in the bearing casting. Fig. 1 shows a lining in two parts 1, 2. Fig. 2 shows a modification in which the lining 3 is partially embedded in the casting, a felt ring 4 being kept in place by a washer 5 and screws 6.
