143,087. Holland, J. July 5, 1919. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Incandescent gas burners; mantle supports.-An upright incandescent burner for use in passages &c. comprises the metal part of an ordinary batswing burner provided with airadmission holes, a mantle support fitting within or on the burner. In one form, the burner tube a has a screwed tapered lower end for attachment to the gas fittings, and the air-holes are formed by bending parts b of the metal inwardly. The mantle support may be made of two lengths of wire c bent into U- shape and twisted one upon the other at the bend, the lower end being sprung within the burner mouth, or being cranked so as to engage over the burner mouth. The mantle may be burnt off in situ.
