Abstract

1430686 Stud and socket fastenings J H J SEEGER 4 July 1973 [4 July 1972] 31939/73 Heading E2B A device for releasably securing one or more components by pins 7 having opposed notches 8 to a support at several positions thereon comprises a channelled rail with a plurality of converging, spaced resilient, retaining tongues 5 each pair defining a gap between them, the tongues in use, positively hold the pins by each pair of the tongues being engaged in the notches of the respective pin with a stem of the pin extending between free longitudinal edges of the rail each pin being rotatable to release the notches thereof from engagement with the tongues. As shown in Figure 1 the rail comprises a U-shaped channel section member 1 of spring steel or strong resilient plastics with holes 4 for securing to a support and with the stud retaining flanges 5. As shown in Fig. 2, the rail is supported in a second rail 9. Alternatively the rail 9 supports pairs of the tongues connected to a common base strip 11 with spaced apertures 12 permitting entry of the studs. As shown in Fig. 4, the tongues 5 are at right angles to those shown in Figs. 1 to 3 and extensions 17 of the base 18 of each pair of tongues slidably engage in longitudinal grooves 16 formed by inturned lips 15 of the rail 14.
