Abstract

1430453 Radiation-sensitive compositions containing polyacetylenes EASTMAN KODAK CO 18 Jan 1973 [24 Jan 1972] 2691/73 Heading G2C A radiation-sensitive print-out composition comprises a mixture of 2 or more crystalline, radiation sensitive compounds with at least 2 acetylenic groups which are conjugated and a hydrophilic binder wherein at least one of the polyacetylenic compounds is a polyacetylenic polyoic acid alkylamide or a polyacetylenic amine salt. Preferably the compounds are dissolved in a water-immiscible solvent and dispersed in an aqueous solution of the binder before coating on a support which may be subbed with a terpolymer. The composition may be overcoated with an electrically conductive cuprous iodide-cellulose nitrate layer and imagewise exposed to ultraviolet to produce a blue image. The image may be fixed by heating or using a solvent for the compound which changes the colour of the image. Preferred compounds and binders are those specified in Specification 1154191. The compositions are also sensitive to electron beams.
