Abstract
1406299 Heat-developable photographic material EASTMAN KODAK CO 2 Oct 1972 [10 Oct 1971] 45406/72 Heading G2C A mixture of photo-sensitive silver halide and non-photo-sensitive silver behenate for use in the production of a heat-developable photo-sensitive coating composition is produced as an aqueous dispersion by lowering the temperature and pH of a silver halide dispersion in a hot ammoniacal solution of the silver behenate. The dispersion' may contain 0.005-0.5 mole of silver halide per mole of fatty acid salt. The silver halide and behenate may be formed substantially simultaneously or successively in the same medium. rnatively the silver halide may be pre-formed, e.g. may be added to aqueous behenate as a gelatine emulsion containing a spectral sensitizing dye. In a modification, the silver behenate may be formed after the lowering of temperature and pH.
