Abstract

1430231 Washing webs DAVID KENNEDY (ENGS) LTD UNIVERSAL TOWEL CO LTD and A R MARSHALL 16 Feb 1973 [17 Feb 1972] 7509/72 Heading D1L Webs are washed in a tensionless condition by spraying washing liq. onto the webs whilst passing over perforated drums. As shown towelling 19 is treated on both sides with washing liq. sprayed from jets 15, 16 as the web towelling passes over perforated drums 11 and 12. The towelling contacts the drums over an angle of at least 90‹. The towelling may be drawn over the drums by a pair of pinch rollers 20, 21.
