1429519 Carbostyril derivatives OTSUKA PHARMACEUTICAL CO Ltd 12 Dec 1973 [14 Dec 1972 (2)] 57652/73 Heading C2C The invention comprises (2-hydroxy-3-alkylamino)propoxycarbostyril derivatives of Formula (I): in which R is a C 1 -C 4 alkyl group and acid addition salts thereof. They may be produced by reacting a 5-, 6-, 7- or 8-substituted carbostyril of Formula (II): in which Y is a group or a -CHOH-CH 2 X group in which X is a halogen with a C 1 -C 4 alkylamine. The compounds of Formula I may be used in pharmaceutical compositions.
