Abstract

1428829 Container with closure TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATES Inc 25 May 1973 25085/73 Heading B8T A container 12 with a single orifice 68 is incompletely filled with a gassy liquid 14 and has a closure 70 for sealing the orifice 68 and an insert 64 extending through the orifice 68 into the container 12 and occupying all or substantially all of the volume of the container 12 not filled with the liquid 14, the insert 64 being capable of accommodating thermal expansion of the liquid 14. The insert may be of cellular material or have a hollow centre open to atmosphere, Fig. 3 (not shown) or connected to the inside of the container by a resiliently closed channel 36, Fig. 4. The closure may be pushed on, Fig. 3 (not shown) and Fig. 4, screwed on, Fig. 5 (not shown or screwed in, Fig. 6. The insert may be integral with the closure, Fig. 3 (not shown) and Fig. 6.
