1428716 Trimming sewn work BEISLER GmbH 27 July 1973 [14 Nov 1972] 35951/73 Heading D1G A hem-band sewing machine has a pinking device 26 removable therefrom, the device comprising a cutter 17 driven from the driving shaft 1, the device including a reduction gear 7 having a coupling sleeve 9 and a shaft 11 connected thereto so as to be axially displaceable and which is mounted on a bearing block 14 in which is also mounted a cutter shaft 16 for the cutter, the block being adjustable parallel to the axis of the cutter shaft. The shafts 11 and 16 are drivingly connected by belts 19. The cutter is driven at a peripheral speed corresponding to that of the machine's material feed: the cutter cuts and pinks the workpiece edge after the band has been sewn on. Seams. The workpiece is then removed and the pinking folded back and stitched.
