Abstract

1428009 Mortar dispenser MASONRY SYSTEMS INTERNATIONAL Inc 11 Dec 1973 57330/73 Heading EIS [Also in Division FIR] A mortar dispenser 10 comprises a tank 12 having a lower, mortar storage area 32 from which mortar is forced through outlet 72 by a plunger 30 which forms the lower wall of an upper, fluid compression area 34, the plunger having vent means to allow air to escape from the lower area via, e.g. and as shown, a hollow piston rod 68, and closure means for the vent means, e.g. and as shown, a rubber bar 60 which is forced against the lower end of rod 68 when the plunger 30 is in contact with mortar in area 32. The dispenser has a removable cap 14 in. the form of a fluid supply chamber 15, compressed air being fed in through fitting 106 one-way valve 104 and line 98, and also passing through regulator (100) and line 102 into chamber 34 when a gauge (113) indicates sufficient pressure in chamber. 15. A manual valve 110 allows different mortar emission rates, and a pop-off valve 112 is also fitted. Mortar passes through a flexible pipe 76 to a nozzle 78 (Fig. 7), which has a circular inlet 82 and a rectangular outlet 84 normally closed by a spring-loaded plate 88, the plate being operable by a trigger 86 to allow mortar to pass through the outlet.
