Abstract

When the plunger is pressed, a mixture of the substance to be dispensed and a compressed gas is ejected through a channel in a plug inside the top, a chamber around the middle of the plunger, then a channel through the plunger, and out of the nozzle at the top. When the plunger is still further against the spring in its base, pure or nearly pure compressed gas passes from a supply tube through a channel in the base of the plug into the spring chamber, through a groove past the bottom of the plunger and into another chamber, then into the channel through the plunger, so as to clean the valve.
