Abstract

1426681 Web formers RANDO MACHINE CORP 5 Feb 1974 [1 March 1973] 05362/ 74 Heading DIN A web former has a first rotary foraminate condenser 75 fed by a duct 73 in which an air stream is created by a suction fan in a housing 65, the mat formed on condenser 75 is fed to a Cickerin 114 which disintegrates the mat and projects it with the aid of an air stream through a second duct 140 to a second movable foraminate condenser 142, the characterising feature being disposition of the first condenser 75 vertically above the Cickerin 114 with their axes in the same vertical plane and the two said ducts being in vertical alignment. Fibre is fed to the web former from a hopper 25 being prevented from matting by an airstream derived from a fan disposed in a terminal knife slitter 174. A water spray 194 is provided in the bin 30 to reduce static.
