Abstract

1426093 Stops for armatures PLESSEY CO Ltd 22 Jan 1974 [22 Feb 1973] 8668/73 Heading H1N The travel of pivoted L-shaped armature 14 in an electromagnetic relay is limited in both directions by stops engaging only that leg 14b which is not attracted by electromagnetic core 16. This leg 14b engages pins 20 that operate spring sets 17 on both sides of buffer block 18. One stop 18a is provided by buffer block 18, the other either by the buffer block or by a member 21 clamped between the block and yoke 12 of the relay. The residual airgap is adjusted by adjusting the angle between the legs 14a, 14b of the armature. An armature 14, Fig. 2, may have glass-filled polycarbonate moulding 22, 23, 24 on leg 14b so that it may be used with an unmodified buffer block and without a member 21.
