Abstract

1426054 Drafting head; sliver guide JAMES MACKIE & SONS Ltd 9 March 1973 [27 March 1972] 14298/72 Heading DID The drafting heads of a spinning frame, Fig. 1, each have a sliver guide 15 shaped to conform with the nip of their front delivery rollers 1, 2, the guide having arm 16 movably mounted on pin 17 to allow the guide to move with traversed sliver 11. The guide, Fig. 2, has channel-shaped sliver-guiding portion 20, and arm slot 25 for receiving pin 17, the slot length and width being longer than the pin diameter. The portion 20 may be integral with the arm. The guide may be moulded from plastics, e.g. nylon, material, the arm then being flexible.
