Abstract
1425798 Flash-bulbs PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 26 April 1974 [1 May 1973] 18431/74 Heading G2L A flash-bulb comprises at least two lead in conductors 21, 22 at least one of which is connected to an ignition mechanism such as a filament 24, the conductors being surrounded over at least a part of their length by an electrically conductive metal sleeve 27 which is electrically insulated from at least one of the conductors and which melts when the lamp is fired to form a fused electrical connection between the conductors. The ignition filament may be connected between the conductor 22 and a third lead in conductor 23 disposed outside the sleeve 27 and surrounded by a glass or enamel insulator 28, or in a modification Fig. 1, (not shown) may be connected between the two conductors which pass through the sleeve. The sleeve may be made of copper or nickel.
