Abstract
1425697 Town gas production METALLGESELLSOHAFT AG 13 Aug 1974 [14 Sept 1973] 35674/74 Heading C5E [Also in Division F4] A plant for producing town gas is supplied with gasoline through conduits 1 and 3 and with process steam through conduit 5, the gasoline and steam being catalytically converted in the tubular heater 4 into a cracked gas that leaves the plant through a conduit 21 after passing through a carbon monoxide shift conversion, scrubbing units, and cooling units including an air-cooled cooler 19. The tubular heater 4 is supplied with fuel oil and combustion air through the conduits 22 and 23 and hot flue gases pass via a combustion air preheater 26 to a chimney 28. Part of the cooling air heated in the cooler 19 is collected by the hood 29 and fed through a conduit 30 to the air preheater 26 to provide the heated combustion air in the conduit 23.
