Abstract

1425302 Heat-shrinkage apparatus FR HESSER MASCHINENFABRIK AG 21 June 1974 [22 June 1973] 27583/74 Heading B8C Apparatus for shrinking shrinkable film wrappings on to articles comprises a first and a second conveyer 8, 9, the second conveyer 9 of which is sequentially aligned with and spaced from the first conveyer 8 and at least one nozzle 2, 3 between the conveyers to direct hot gases on to the wrapping. Nozzles 2 and 3 may be adjustable with respect to the level of the upper runs 8a and 9a of the conveyers and may be in the shape of slit-orifices. One of these slit orifice nozzles 2 is inclined in a direction opposed to the direction of conveyance whereas the other nozzle 3 is inclined in the direction of conveyance. A further nozzle 4 may be arranged above the second conveyer 9, preferably downstream of the clearance 10. Instead of a single nozzle 4 a plurality of upper nozzles, extending at an angle similar to the nozzles 2 and 3, may be provided. For preheating the bottom surfaces of the wrappings 15 to a temperature below the shrinkage temperature before reaching the clearance 10, the table 13 supporting the first conveyer 8 may be provided with heating means 20. Alternatively, nozzles might be used for this preheating.
