Abstract

1425237 Non dusting dyestuff compositions CIBA-GEIGY AG 4 April 1973 [7 April 1972] 16184/73 Heading D1B Non dusting dimensionally stable dyestuff granulate comprises one or more water-soluble dyestuffs, 0.1 to 20 per cent by weight of the total weight of granulate of a cationic or anionic dispersing agent and/or wetting agent and 5 to 50 per cent by weight of a binding agent e.g. dextrin, maize starch, potato starch, gelatin, lignin sulphonate or cellulose derivative. The granulate preferably has a particle size of at least 1 mm. and may also contain nonionic dispersing or wetting agents. Other additives include fillers e.g. an inorganic salt, urea or sugar, humectants e.g. glycerin, effervescent agents e.g. ammonium bicarbonate or a mixture of sodium bicarbonate and tartaric acid, thickeners e.g. carboxymethyl cellulose or polyvinylpyrrolidone or a drying agent e.g. based on silicon dioxide. The granulate is prepared by mixing the dry or moist dyestuff with the dispersing and/or wetting agent, binding agent and other optional additives with prior grinding or dispersion of the dyestuff into a homogenous mass and then forming the granules which may be lamella, spherical, cylindrical, hollow-cylindrical or in tablet form and then finally drying. Water-soluble acid, basic and reactive dyes are used.
