Abstract

1425137 Retaining fuel injectors ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 24 Jan 1974 [25 Jan 1973] 03321/74 Heading F1B A fuel injection nozzle, for an I.C. engine comprises a body, a hollow screw for clamping the body to the cylinder head of the engine and a snap ring which engages in an annular groove in the body and is arranged to be clamped between the groove and the screw to secure the body in position. Fuel injection nozzle 3 has an annular groove 6 around the body 7 which receives a snap ring 5. A hollow retaining screw 4 has a tapered counter bore 8 which compresses the ring radially as the screw is tightened to lock the injector nozzle in bore 1 of engine 2. Rotation of the injector is prevented by a pin 10 entering a groove in the wall of bore 1.
