Abstract
1424637 Inverting BROWN BOVERI & CIE AG 24 June 1974 [22 June 1973] 27971/74 Heading H2F A circuit for feeding an inductive load L 1 (such as an induction heater) comprises an in- verter 2 having a first capacitor C 1 in series with the load L 1 , a second capacitor C 2 in shunt with the load L 1 and a third capacitor C 3 in shunt with the output of the inverter 2. The capacitors provide the reactive power required by the inverter 2 and the inductive load L 1 . The circuit is such that the load voltage is 1À5- 2 times the inverter output voltage and the voltage across C 1 is somewhat smaller. A reactor diagram is included. The quotient of the inverter output phase angle and its angular frequency must be greater than the recovery time of the thyristors.
