1424557 Liquid level indicator SPETSIALNOE PROEKTNOKONSTRUKTORSKOE BJURO VSESOJUZNOGO OBELINENIA SOJUZNEFTEAVTOMATIKA 3 Dec 1973 55864/73 Heading G1H In a liquid level signalling device the shay magnetic field from a magnetic fixed to the underside of a non-magnetic partition 2 normally holds contacts 6, in circuit, through terminals 13, 14 with a signalling device, closed and the arrangement is such that a further magnet 8, arranged in opposite polarity to magnet 7, normally rests on stops 11, 12 and through flexible strip 9 and float 10, when the float 10 is immersed in liquid, lifts the magnet 8 to a position in which the magnet 8 is suddenly attracted into contact with magnet 7 to reduce the shay magnetic flux to open the contact 6. The float 10 has a weight/volume rates equal to the specific gravity of the liquid.
