Abstract
1,206,565. Liquid level indication. BESTA A.G. March 21, 1969, No.15021/69. Heading G1H. In a float switch for monitoring a liquid level, such as for use in a corrosive atmosphere or outside rooms liable to danger from explosions, a float 1, arranged in the interior of a container, moves with the alteration of the liquid level to tilt a permanent magnet 5 which, through the wall 23 of non-magnetizable material, tilts a permanent magnet 18 to actuate a rocking piece 17 and a tooth 19 thereon to move the actuator arm 20 to operate a magnetically controllable magneto-resistive element switch 15 provided with terminals 21. The elements of switch 15 are magnetically controllable semi-conductor resistances, such as indium antimonide, the resistance of which increases in a magnetic field.
