Abstract

1424404 Structural joints PRIC PATENT RESEARCH (INTERNATIONAL) CORP Inc 27 April 1973 [27 April 1972] 20051/73 Heading F2M A door or wall member 3 is secured to a wall 1, e.g. the curved wall of a candelabra, by a screw 6 the head of which is located in a cage 5 welded or otherwise secured to the rear face of the member 3, the cage being slotted at 7 to receive the shank of the screw, and the screw being threadedly engaged in a threaded bore 10 of a lug 9 formed separately from the wall 1 and member 3 but engageable behind the wall 1, rotation of the screw being effected by passing a tool through a hole 8 in the member 3. The arrangement is preferably such that the member 3 can be fitted flush in an opening 2 in the wall 1 by engaging lugs 4 behind the lower edge of the opening and tilting the lug 9 and screw 6 rearwardly so that the lug 9 clears the upper edge of the opening, after which the screw is tightened to cause the lug 9 to engage behind wall 1 to clamp the door in place.
