1423338 Propellants IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 5 June 1959 [5 Nov 1958] 35605/58 Addition to 1423337 Heading C1D In the process for the production of a cast propellant claimed in Specification 1,423,337, the casting liquid is introduced into the blend of the two nitrocellulose compositions without any evacuation. The amount of potassium salt in the final product is preferably 1 to 7% by weight. Additional platonization agents specified are lead citrate, lead salicylate, lead 2:4 dihydroxy benzoate, lead sulphite, lead oxide, cupric oxide, and the salicylate, oxalate, and 2:4 dihydroxy benzoate of copper. In additional examples, carbon black is present in the composition and nitrocellulose is used in the form of pyronitrocellulose.
