Abstract

1423221 Clips LORD CORP 22 Jan 1973 [25 Jan 1972] 3223/73 Heading E2B [Also in Division A4] A clip for fastening a pipe C to a support S is made of elastomeric material having a wide bore portion 12 which does not contact the pipe and, at one or both ends, a constricted part 11b which does grip the pipe, the wide portion including a rigid support strip embedded in it. The fastening bolts 21 may be located by an additional strip 22. A slit 14 at the bottom of the clip enables it to be opened out, for insertion of the pipe, by spreading-pliers engaging in loops 16a in wires 16 embedded in the end portion(s) 11b. In a modified form (Fig. 4, not shown), these wires lie in external grooves in the end portions, and are placed in position after installation. In other forms, the wires are dispensed with, only a single strap extension 19 is employed, and two clips are joined together side-by-side.
