Abstract

1422948 Sterilizing process DRAYTON CASTLE LTD 18 April 1973 [12 May 1972] 22379/72 Heading A5G In a process wherein articles are sterilized in a steam sterilizer and cooled before removal by spraying with coolant water derived from the condensate of the autoclave, the condensate is circulated through the autoclave and, preferably, sprayed over the load during the period when the load is brought up to and/or maintained at the sterilization temperature as well as during the cooling period after sterilization. The apparatus described for the process comprises a steam autoclave 1 with a drain outlet leading to a heat exchanger 8 (supplied with coolant water) and a tank 5 which supplies the spraying device 10 in the autoclave chamber with water via the pump 7.
