Abstract
1422237 Folding scaffold MARTIN-THOMAS Ltd 11 Feb 1974 [24 Feb 1973] 9188/73 Heading E1S A folding scaffold comprises a main frame including end uprights 11, 12, a pair of side frames each including end uprights 22, 23 and 24, 25, an upright 22, 24 of each side frame being hinged to but spaced from a respective main frame upright 11, 12, a platform 32 fixed to the top of the main frame, and removable platform boards 33, 34, 35 which may be stowed between the main and side frames when the scaffold is not in use and folded, (Fig. 1, not shown), but which may be placed on horizontal bars 27 of the side frames when unfolded perpendicular to the main frame as shown. The boards have locating blocks 36 to engage the side frames and hold them perpendicular to the main frame. The uprights 11, 12, 23, 25 have castors, and the uprights 23, 25 have extensions at their upper ends to form stops and are provided with a clamp for holding them together when folded, the clamp comprising a hook for engaging round one upright, pivoted to a bolt mounted in a hole in the other upright.
