Abstract
1422135 Measuring fluidflow DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 31 August 1973 [22 Sept 1972] 43896/72 Headings G1L and G1R In an aircraft pressure instrument a Pilot pressure P is supplied to an expandable capsule 1 in a chamber 4 supplied with a base pressure B and movement of capsule 1, due to the difference between the pressure P and B, is transferred via a linkage 6 to a calibrated meter 5 identical to a conventional air speed indicator. The base pressure B is different from the static pressure wheel can be effected by factors such as turbulence and is relatively unaffected by such factors. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown) an altimeter is shown comprising two capsules operating in tandem, one being, connected to the pilot pressure and the other to the base pressure.
