Abstract

1421888 Locks W J REYNOLDS (EQUIPMENT) Ltd 25 July 1974 [3 July 1973] 32740/ 74 Divided out of 1390760 Addition to 1390760 Heading E2A A door locking and release system in a building wherein a door is locked by a component removably affixed thereto which component is adapted to operate an alarm circuit inside the building the alarm circuit being broken when the component is detached from the door. Sliding bolts 3, 4 adjacent the edge of one of two abutting doors 1, 2 are projected by pulling a handle 18 attached to a rod 16 connected to a link 13 pivoted on a shaft 11 secured to a disc 12 connected by pivoted links 14, 15 to ends of the bolts. The bolts are locked by a plate 19 which has an edge slot 21 with a reduced slot 23 for engaging a groove 22 of the rod 16 to prevent the handle being pushed in to release the bolts. The plate is retained on the casing by a key actuated bolt 29 of a lock 26 which projects into a slot of the casing and the bolt abuts a projection 30 of the casing to prevent sliding release movement of the plate which has headed pins 25 engaging key hole slots 24 in the casing. The plate when released from the casing 6 is locked to a similar casing 31 and the bolt actuates a switch 32 on the casing which energises a relay to break the alarm circuit. The alarm circuit is operative when the plate 19 is not in the casing 31 and may provide an audible or light signal.
