Abstract
1421775 Non-woven fabric CARL FREUDENBERG 28 Dec 1972 [28 Dec 1971] 59831/ 72 Heading D1R [Also in Division H1] An accumulator, e.g. of the tubular alkali type, includes a separator having a thickness between 0.1 and 0.3 mm and consisting of a fleece formed solely from higher melting polyamide fibres bonded in the fleece by lower melting polyamide. The lower melting polyamide may be introduced into the fleece as separate fibres in a minor amount, e.g. 20%, of the fibre mixture. The bonding may be effected by the application of heat and pressure to soften the fibres in the fleece. Suitable bonding may be obtained by the copolymerisation of caprolactam and the salt of adipic acid and hexamethylenediamine. The fleece may be carded.
