Abstract

1421215 Coaxial connectors SPINNER GmbH ELEKTROTECHNISCHE FABRIK 30 April 1973 [4 May 1972 (2)] 20457/73 Heading H2E A collet comprising two half shells 28 is fitted round the outer conductor 24 of a coaxial cable. The conductor 24 has helical or annular corrugations and the collet has matching corrugations. The end of the conductor 24 is deformed to fit a conical or plane surface 32 of the collet, or alternatively the surface 32 may be such as to fit the sloping portion of a corrugation. Body sections 10, 12 of the connector are then screwed together, and shoulders 30, 36 apply axial pressure to clamp a ring 34 against the conductor 24. Section 10 carries a plug. The connector also comprises a foam material sleeve 22 and seals 14, 27. Sealing composition 38 is injected through an opening closed by a screw 40.
