Cylinders, mounting.-The force of the explosion on the cylinder head E is taken by long bolts B which pass up from the bed-plate through the frames A and are secured by nuts R. The cylinder barrel is suspended from the cover and is made thinner from the combustion chamber downwards. The covers have rectangular flanges secured together by lugs and bolts L, Fig. 2.
