Abstract

Rotary distributors.-In rotary distributors the fixed contacts D<1> - - D<4> are arranged in one face of an annular ring of insulating material C, which is carried by an outer metal casing A with a peripheral flange B. Between the contacts D<1> - - D<4> are disposed dead segments E to form a substantially continuous metallic tracks or raceway. The contacts D<1> - - D<4> are respectively connected to terminals d<1> - - d<4> projecting from the rim B of the casing A by rods b passing obliquely through the rim B and the insulating ring C, two of the rods also passing through dead segments E. Each rod b is surrounded by an insulating tube b<1>. The rotating spring-pressed bush f is carried by an arm F secured to the distributor shaft H, which projects through a control hole a in the casing A, thereby preventing access of oil from the engine to the distributor. A removable cover G is provided, and a timing arm H<1> is attached to the casing A.
