Abstract

1420995 Spreaders for lifting containers ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AB 9 May 1973 [10 May 1972] 22125/73 Heading B8H Spreader for lifting containers has a latch 14 at each corner to engage the corner casting of a container. Each latch is pivotally mounted on a plate 13 slidably mounted between a pair of walls 11 on the spreader framework whereby an actuating unit 40 coupled to the plates may adjust the position of the latches to accommodate variations of the spacing of the corner castings of a container. The plate is mounted with a clearance fit on a pair of bolts 36 extending between the walls, the clearance fit providing for the necessary movement of the latches. The latches are also coupled to an activating unit 31 for their axial rotation into locking engagement with the corner castings.
