Abstract

1420818 Proximity switching systems G WEBER 18 April 1973 [28 April 1972] 18629/73 Heading G1N In an electronic proximity switching system responsive to damping of the oscillator tank coil, the coil is remote from the electronics and is formed as a loop enclosed in a protective "tubular" metal surround which may be water cooled for operation in high ambient temperatures. The cooling tube forms a second loop in contact with the coil shield, and the coil is embedded in silicone rubber. A "metallic break" in the shield avoids a short-circuiting loop.
